Taylor Bernier joined Portland Yacht Services in 2023 as an Outboard Technician and brings a decade of experience working with marine engines—particularly Mercury and MerCruiser systems. Mercury-certified and deeply familiar with engine mechanics from 15 years of hands-on work, Taylor made the move into the boating industry to sharpen his skills and continue doing what he loves: solving problems and working on the water.



A lifelong boater, Taylor has been on boats since he can remember. One of his favorite memories is fishing for stripers on his grandfather’s boat—a simple but lasting reminder of why he loves this lifestyle. Now, his focus is on helping customers get the most out of their season by making sure their boats are in top shape and ready to go.

Taylor’s advice to boaters is simple: stay on top of your yearly maintenance to avoid headaches and ensure more time on the water. When he’s not working, he’s often still boating or fishing—or traveling when he gets the chance. What he enjoys most about working at the yard is the friendly, supportive team and the regular opportunity to get out on the water—especially when working on Axopars, which often means at least a few boat rides each week.
