Joined the Crew in 2023

Stephen Everett joined the team in 2023 as a Facilities Engineer, bringing an impressive 43 years of experience in maintaining and managing marine equipment. As an unlimited horsepower chief engineer in the U.S. Merchant Marine, he has spent his career ensuring that complex machinery runs smoothly, both at sea and onshore. His passion for working with machinery and his desire to see the world led him to a career that has taken him to 72 countries. Now, he applies his expertise to keeping all equipment at the boatyard in top condition so that technicians can efficiently complete their work.

A dedicated sailor, Stephen spends his summers racing Etchells and has restored three classic Boston Whalers, a project he takes great pride in. His advice to boat owners is simple but essential: “Maintain your boat 100% and know how to dead reckon.” Proper maintenance and traditional navigation skills can make all the difference when out on the water.

Outside of work, Stephen enjoys sailboat racing, woodworking, and building model airplanes. He values teamwork and enjoys collaborating with his colleagues to see boat projects through to completion. For him, the best part of the job is working alongside good people while maintaining a work schedule that suits his lifestyle. With decades of experience and a passion for the industry, Stephen plays a vital role in keeping the boatyard running smoothly.
