Paul Germain

Bottom Paint & Detailing Manager

Joined the Crew in 2020

Paul Germain has been a key part of the Detail & Bottom Paint Department since 2020, bringing eight years of hands-on experience in bottom painting and surface preparation. With no formal training, he learned everything on the job, developing a sharp eye for detail and precision. His journey into the boating industry stemmed from a desire to find trade work that would make use of his meticulous nature—qualities that serve him well in creating smooth, high-performance boat bottoms.

Paul enjoys leisure boat rides in the bay, but one of his proudest moments was completing his first race bottom paint spray job, which helped the boat owner take first place in a competition. As part of the detail team, he plays a crucial role in customer experience, often being among the last people to work on a boat before it is handed back to its owner. His advice to boaters is straightforward: “Boating is not cheap. Work hard, play harder."

Outside of work, Paul has a passion for food and enjoys traveling to experience new flavors. A surprising fact about him is that he previously fixed and maintained small arms for the U.S. Army. At the boatyard, he appreciates the diverse team, as different perspectives help bring fresh solutions to challenges. His favorite part of the job? The moment of calm after the busy spring and summer launch season—when all the hard work pays off and every boat is finally in the water, ready to go.
