Mason Ash joined the Portland Yacht Services team in 2023 as a Boatyard Technician. Though still early in his career with two years of experience, Mason has already developed a strong appreciation for the variety and challenges that come with working in the marine industry. His journey into boating began in an unexpected way—starting out building hoses, then moving buildings, and now, moving boats. That hands-on, ever-evolving work is what keeps him engaged.

One of Mason's favorite memories on the job is working on the Shaftmaster boats, a project that left a lasting impression. He takes pride in playing a key role in the customer experience, ensuring that every haul-out or launch goes smoothly and that boaters have everything they need. For Mason, the best part of the job is seeing all the unique boats and projects that come through the yard.



What Mason enjoys most about working at the boatyard is the teamwork and the ever-changing nature of the work. Every day presents a new challenge, and he values the collaborative effort it takes to tackle each one.
