Parts Deparment
Joined the Crew in 2023
Malcolm Burns joined the Parts Department in 2024, bringing two years of experience in parts management. After spending eight years in the medical field, he was ready for a change and found his way into the boating industry, drawn by the happiness boats bring to people. While he doesn’t have formal training in marine parts, his hands-on experience and problem-solving skills make him a valuable resource for customers seeking the right components for their boats. Whether assisting with phone sales, over-the-counter sales, or sourcing parts from vendors, Malcolm ensures boat owners get what they need to keep their vessels running smoothly.
Although he hasn’t spent a lifetime on the water, Malcolm has enjoyed boating with friends and even driving a few himself. One of his favorite boating memories is kneeboarding with his friend Mike—after struggling to get up on the board, he decided to take over the wheel and have a little fun, sending Mike flying off the board with a quick burst of throttle. His advice for boat owners? “Get a good maintenance plan and open up your wallet.”
Outside of work, Malcolm is a passionate motorcycle enthusiast, spending his free time riding and working on Harley-Davidsons. He’s also been a freelance tattoo artist for 12 years, blending creativity with technical skill. At the boatyard, he enjoys the camaraderie of his team, describing them as a great and interesting group of people. But perhaps his favorite part of the job is the dogs—having them around the shop makes every workday a little better.
