Joined the Crew in 2021

Luke Battige joined Portland Yacht Services in 2021 as an Outboard Technician and brings four years of solid marine experience to the team. His expertise spans a wide range of outboard brands including Yamaha, Tohatsu, Mercury, Honda, and Suzuki, along with marine electronics, stereo and navigation systems, trolling motors, and trailer work. With Yamaha factory training under his belt, plus experience with both inline and V engines, Luke’s skill set makes him a go-to guy for all things outboard.



His journey into the boating industry started in a fun, grassroots way—flipping boats on Facebook Marketplace. That hands-on hustle eventually turned into a professional passion. A striper fisherman at heart, Luke’s favorite (and funniest) boating memory is the time he got stranded on the Saco River for 12 hours waiting for the tide to return. He made the best of it, walking to Alex Pizza and camping out until midnight.

Luke believes in keeping customer interactions genuine and face-to-face, and always encourages boaters to stay ahead on repairs and maintenance to avoid surprises on the water. When he’s not working at the yard, he’s usually wrenching on his own boats and jet skis—or running his own business, Luke’s Marine Jetski Rentals (https://lukesmarine.com/), which has been going strong for five years. He also enjoys snowmobiling with his coworkers and thrives on the challenge of solving puzzles every day at work.
