Joined the Crew in 2023

Jacob Joergensen joined the Systems Department in 2023, bringing three years of experience and training from the Landing School of Boat Building and Design. His passion for marine systems started when a former boss, who was also a Landing School instructor, introduced him to the field. He quickly fell in love with the variety of jobs within marine systems, appreciating the problem-solving and hands-on nature of the work.

Originally from Norway, Jacob has extensive boating experience, having sailed around Europe and even north of the Arctic Circle. His approach to customer service is centered on education—he takes the time to explain the "why" and "how" behind the work, ensuring boat owners understand how to stay safe on the water. His advice for boaters reflects his deep respect for the sea: “The good seaman weathers the storm he cannot avoid and avoids the storm he cannot weather.”

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys hiking with his dog and speaks four languages. When it comes to teamwork, he embraces the challenges that come with the job, referring to it as “embracing the suck.” For him, the best part of working at the boatyard is the diversity—not only in the boats and projects but also in the people and the skills he continues to develop every day.
