Joined the Crew in 2023

Jack Clagett joined the Systems Department in 2023, bringing three years of experience specializing in DC electrical work. With certifications in ABYC Marine Systems, Diesel, and Electrical, he has developed a strong technical foundation that allows him to tackle complex systems with confidence. Jack enjoys problem-solving and working with his hands, which naturally led him to a career in the boating industry. His passion for troubleshooting and attention to detail ensure that every job is completed to the highest standard. He takes pride in holding himself and his team accountable, always striving to go the extra mile to make each project not only functional but also visually well-executed.

Beyond work, Jack is an avid water enthusiast who loves riding jet skis. One of his favorite projects was fabricating a custom muffler for a generator—a challenge that tested his skills and creativity. His advice to boat owners is straightforward but invaluable: “Don’t wait until there’s a real issue to improve or fix something.” Preventative maintenance is key to avoiding costly and time-consuming repairs down the line.

Outside the boatyard, Jack enjoys surfing and playing music, though he admits with a laugh that he can’t whistle. He appreciates the collaborative environment at work, especially the opportunity to receive critical feedback that helps him refine his skills. For him, the best part of the job is the constant learning—every day presents new challenges, new boats, and new opportunities to expand his expertise.
