Joined the Crew in 2024

Dave Petruccelli joined the team in 2024 as a Safety & Health Administrator, bringing an impressive 40 years of experience. His career path is a unique blend of passions—having grown up sailing and working in the boating industry before spending 28 years in the fire service. Now, he has found a way to merge both backgrounds, ensuring safety and preparedness in the maritime world. With an AAS in Yacht Operations and Boatyard Management from Maine Maritime Academy, along with OSHA 10-hour Maritime Industry certification, Dave is well-equipped to maintain a safe and efficient environment.

Although boating has been a lifelong passion, Dave's expertise extends beyond the water. His sailing experience once led him to an unexpected adventure—working as a chase crew member for a hot air balloon company. This opportunity took him on a cross-country rally, traveling through 15 cities from Olympia, WA, to St. Augustine, FL, experiencing breathtaking flights and festivals along the way.

At the boatyard, Dave thrives in an environment where he learns something new every day. He appreciates the deep well of knowledge among his colleagues and enjoys supporting their work. His favorite part of the job is the people, the history, and the connections that make the industry so rich and rewarding. When asked for advice to boat owners, his guidance is simple but crucial: always be prepared for emergencies. Whether on the water or in any other setting, safety and preparedness are key.
