Cooper Shaw
Systems & Inboard Technician
Joined the Crew in 2024
Cooper Shaw joined the Systems Department in 2024, bringing with him a strong background in marine systems and boatyard management. He spent three years studying marine systems at PATHS before continuing his education at The Landing School, where he earned two ABYC certifications. With a specialization in composite part fabrication and electrical work, Cooper is passionate about keeping boats in top shape and ensuring smooth operations for customers.
Growing up boating in Maine, Cooper has spent countless hours on the water in Casco Bay and Boothbay Harbor, even fishing his own five lobster traps. His love for the ocean led him to a career where he could turn his passion into a profession. One of his favorite projects was restoring his family’s 13-foot Whaler, and some of his best memories are those spent on the water with his grandmother.
At work, Cooper focuses on maintaining a clean and organized workspace, both on and off the boat, to help create a positive experience for customers. He enjoys answering questions and always strives to be helpful and approachable. His advice to boat owners is simple but crucial—never skip routine checks, as small oversights can quickly ruin a trip.
Outside of work, Cooper enjoys boating in his free time. He also appreciates the teamwork at the boatyard, where everyone is supportive and willing to share knowledge, tools, and advice. His favorite part of the job is the satisfaction of fixing something that isn’t working and bringing it back to life. And as a fun fact—his height of 5 feet 3 inches makes working in tight boat spaces much easier, proving that sometimes, the little things make a big difference!
