Alex Scarpa joined the boatyard in 2024 as a Bottom Paint & Detail Technician, bringing a keen eye for cleanliness and a passion for making boats shine. With previous experience cleaning high-end homes and cars, transitioning to boats and yachts felt like a natural next step. Living in the Sebago Lake area has given Alex plenty of life experience around the water, fueling a love for the boating environment even without owning a boat. Fishing is a favorite pastime, offering a way to enjoy the water whenever possible.

One of Alex’s most unforgettable boating memories comes from childhood—after dyeing their hair red, they took a ride on a pristine Chaparral speedboat, only to discover that the dye had transferred onto the boat’s pure white cushions. The rental boat owner wasn’t pleased, but the story remains a humorous reminder of how important proper care and maintenance are for boats. Now, Alex makes sure every vessel is spotless, ensuring customers are happy with the results. When interacting with boat owners, Alex prioritizes approval, making sure customers are satisfied with the cleaning and detailing process. The best advice for boaters? Always rinse your boat with fresh water after use, whether in a lake or the ocean, to maintain its longevity and appearance.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys being creative, spending time on wood-burning projects and paintings. Coming from a family of five sisters, there was never a dull moment growing up, and that energy carries into work, where Alex thrives in the friendly and fun environment of the boatyard. The willingness of the team to share knowledge and teach new skills makes every day a learning experience.
